Oh yea it does make a difference. The size depends how your going to use it. If your lifting your truck andlarger tires you need to ugrade it. check out http://www.4lo.com/calc/geartable.htmThis is a chart that tells you what is best for power and fuel economy with the size of tire. I did have 3.55 in mine, now 3.90 I did notice a big differnce. The onlyregret is that I didnt go bigger, because I installed them when I put in 31s now I got 33s I wish I did more.According to that chart 4.10s would of gave me most power. The 3.90 is great tho I love it.I only steped up a little for the highway.I installed gears from www.ringpinion.com . They have good prices. I bought there cheeper gears and there strong enough. I did blow my front gears once. But it was my fault I installed it wrong. If you buy them you should do it properly or have a shop install them. I do some serious offroading, rockcrawling and mud and everything inbetween. I have a No slip locker in the rear. The locker gives me so much more tracion. I do go to the dragstrip with my truck too. It helps out so much out there to. With the No Slip locker is easy to install too. Good luck.

Good info, Crazy. I have been thinking of going with 4.11's and 33's. My 3.55's and 32's don't cut it.

Sure-grip, not posi-trac. [8D]

With a 3.9 I would just stick to the 3.90 should be good for you. 4.10 is too much, IMO
