Black smoke meens its running rich. You could check your fuel system maybe a fuel injector isnot working correctly or bad fuel pressur regulator. or dirty fuel.

yea not sure what it could be hopefully just running rich because of a sensor or something thats what im hoping i dont know if its burning gas more than usual i dont drive it i tore it all apart and starting to fix it up custom interior, paint and an air suspension. if i do a compression test that will tell me if its burning oil real bad right. or is there another way it smells like gas though from the exhuast which led me to believe its running rich???

have your used oil analyzed for blow-by. not sure where you can take it to have that done but that will tell you if you have internal problems or not.

A compression test will not tell you the condition of your rings for that you have to do a wet compression test.
