Default Temp Gage

My rad went recently so I replaced it along with my water pump and therm (and got the air out of the system). But now when I drive and hit the gas my temp gage goes up into the red and when I come to a stop at a light the temp gage goes back down to normal. Anyone ever have this problem or know what is the prob?
Thanks

I dont think it would be your headbgasket. It sounds like the sensor is going bad or the wire is tuching ground. The 1st gen. has two one for the computer and one for the gauge replace both. there 15 each.

The sensor to the right (passenger side) of the top hose is for the coolant gauge (this has 1 wire); the sensor to the left (driver side) of the top hose is for the computer.

Might want to replace thermostat. Easy and cheap, i would start there. Don't know if you did it, if you did make sure it is not upsidedown.
