Hey Guys,

So my 88 3.9 Dakota has went from the junker too our main mode of transport, driving that thing everywhere! I was wondering how many miles you guys get out of a tank? At the moment, I am scraping buy on 260 odd before the low fuel warning light switches on and I am feeling thats not exactly, ummm, frugal.

I got about 13.9 mpg then put a K&N on there i got like 14.9 mpg. Of corarse this was before I tore all apart found out I was burning oil.

 

sounds kind of weak, my 5.2L that eats a slight amount of oil(about a quart in between oil changes) gets about 16mpg and 20 on long drives

 

well, im roughly getting 10 miles a gallon on my 95' 3.9.....[:'(]

I get about 18 mpg on my 96 dodge dakota

 

My 95' 5.2 with a cap gets 13.5 around town and 23 on long hauls. She drinks abouta quart of oil between changes but then again my changes are....well you don't want to know how I abuse this truck. It boarders on criminal. Lets just say that I have an automatic oil changing system...wink..wink...nudge...nudge.

Imade 320 milles before without the light coming on. Maybe it dosen't work! he he he. But!I still made it to a petro station.

my uncle is having the same problem but worse he burns a quarter tank of gas in his 15mi trip home I didn't believe him till I started livin with my dad and he took me and my dad to work one mornin any tips are helpful its a 3.9l v6 dakota sport reg cab long bed 2wd not sure of the year I think its a 95 I know that its some where between 92 and 96 because its a magnum motor btw im not trying to steal this mans post just figured I could get some answers at the same time
