Hey guys, im having a problem with my 1995 Dodge Dakota 5.2L V8, Just wondering if anyone knows where the fuel filter is located? how much work to replace it, and the easiest way to do it.

It is on the driver side, inside the frame rail. Just passed the gas tank. It is simple. I belive it may have some specail retainer clips. If you can get it appart with out damaging it. I have hose claps holding mine and I cant remember if that was stock or not I replaced it a long time ago. It is easy to do just pull the fuel pump fuse and start the engine, Let it die. This is the easyest way to relase the fuel pressure.

i think they are in the tank from the factory, that must be an aftermarket one Crazy4x4RT.

ok i looked on my CD mamual and from 1989-93 all the fuel filter are where crazy described. on 1994-96 the filter is in the tank.

well i quess im gonna have a fun time doin that filter then.
Wat do you guys think would be the esier way out? drop the tank, or lift the box, and then just pull out the fuel pump assembly with the filter??

I guess ur right fox! i know its the same way with the fuel pressure reglator too. i have an internal tank filter too. and an external as well here is a pic. sorry to you all confused!

i tried replacing the feul filter on my 94 dakota and it is in the tank and trust me it is a lot easier to lift the box off then to drop the tank also if you lift the box off it makes for real easy acsess

i wish i had an external fuel filter...... too bad i am about to get rid of the electric fuel pump anyways!
