Transfer case
Recently bought a 93 Dakota. Kinda got screwed over but like the truck. I need to change the t-case and could use some dodge forum tech help.
Does anybody know how many cases they used? And if I can use one from a manual in my automatic?
Thanks in advance.

1. Get the vehicle on some jack stands
2.Drain the fluid
3.Disconnect the distance sensor if equiped, and disconnect the speedo cable from the T-case.
4.Mark both driveshafts positions and remove
5.Disconnect power take off if equiped
6.Disconnect linkages, electrical connecters, and vaccum lines from T-case. Using the right jack support the T-case and remove crossmember.
7. Unbolt T-case from transmission and slide it backward to remove it from the vehicle.
8. Install is reverse removal tighen tighten bolts to 26 ft. lbs, and don't forget to fill it back up

There are several crossmebers all around. I think at the transfercase there is no crossmember. The clossest one is at the tranny mount. But I havnt looked down there for a while. So I could be wrong.
It's gotta come off there. I never got to the donor truck Saturday morning anyway. It was 16 degrees and they closed at noon.
Good thing I didn't jump on getting that case because I found a 318/auto/t-case. Got the guy down to $200 but he knows nothing about the stuff except it was a running truck. I need a tranny and case so this was a better deal if I wanna drive 3 hours and pull this stuff for a gamble. I Got a 3.9L in mine, V8 would be nice but the V6 is gonna hafta stay for now.
