want to hear about electrical probs.
Here is my previous post. I ended up ditching the factory swith and wired everything into a single toggle switch. I might try fixing it properly in the spring.

mine did the same last winter. when ever it was really cold out, I would have no head lights. and then after about 10minutes they would finally come on. mine was just the switch on the inside. I just went to the wreckers and got another one, and its been fine since.
Mine was doing the same thing but also causing my instrument cluster to shut down at the same time. It was my turn signal switch connector. I just disconnected it and twisted the harness so that it would keep a tight connection due to it trying to untwist. It's worked fine for the last year or so and it didn't cost me a dime!!!
Yea, the headlight switches on these haven't proven to be the best.
The majority of the problems with them seem to be burning up. (Smoke coming from them, and when removed, black on theback)
My headlight switch has worked fine for me since I bought the truck, but I did modify both the low and high beam wiring to incorporate relays. This also allows me to incorporate a switch thatallows both the low and high beams to beon at the same time, without worrying about burning up the switch (because all the current for the lights does go through that switch, which is probably why they burn up to begin with).

got an 89 dak sport. never had a problem with the electrical. try an earlier model light switch. 87-91. if it will fit. my daks got 260,000 km on it in the nova scotia salt winters.
