i have a 93 club cab with the 5.2 v8 it has 242k miles on it it is throwing a code that says something with the injectors but it doesnt specify which one it is so i am trying to figure how i can deterime which is the bad one and what are these best and cheapest ones to use also i have the mopor high performance computer k&n filter no cats and a magnaflow muffler

 

How did you check the codes? If you did it with the scanner it should have showed up as which one it is. Is the engine missing? If it is, One way to test is turn on the engine and unplug each injetor untill you notice no difference in the engine. auozone should be chpeest.

 

i checked the codes by turning the key on and off like it says in the repair manual it throws a code 27 sometimes it will run fine and the it will start running bad and u can feel its loss of power

 

If it's a sticky injector it's easy to find.When it starts to miss,touch each of the injectors. The one that is sticking will be hotter than the rest. Then as was said unplug it to see if idle stays the same or drops off.

 

You can also go to most parts stores they usualy do check engine lights free. Like autozone checkers I think pepboys charges like 5 but as said its easy to check your self.

 

autozone said they only do nwer ones at least that was what they told me

 

When I had this problem with my '95, all I had to do was run an injector cleaner thru the pressure test port on the fuel rail, 214k miles on the original injectors
