rear end q's
ok i have an 87 dakota 4x4 3.9L...
ive dun some research but i wanna make sure, do i have a chrysler 8.25 27 spline?
another thing... im thinking about welding up the spiders, i dont have to pull out all the guts to do this right? can i just take the cover off?
if i decided to go back to just the normal set-up what all would i have to change? just the spiders? how hard would it be to change back?
any tips or tricks on doing this?
does this hurt anything other than tires by doing this?

the 7.25 has a 6 side diff. cover. the 8.25 has a olval diff. cover. weldedspiders arenot good forthe street. if the truck is dirt only then its okay.if you weld them you should weld in the space in between them, so they are removable. you can hurt you trany because more stress when taking turns Just get a locker. like a lockright $370 summitracing.com

damn im suprised the tranny hasnt gone out yet considering it has 200500 miles on it so i dont wanna put much more stress on it. hm its a street truck but me and my buddies like to go out on the weekends and do some off roading. i just dont know about blowin 370 bux on a locker when i only paid 400 for the truck lol. im putting a lot of work into the truck tho bc its the nicest vehicle ive got so im trying to make it nicer. i guess im gonna have to save for the locker.
