I'm in a very confusing situation here and need desperate help from anyone. I recently had to replace the clutch in my 89 dakota and was told I needed to replace the "clutch fork" also. The problem is finding a clutch fork for an 89. I've searched through the net but with no luck. I understand that it is a part no longer being sold individually.Can ANYONE can help me find this part (89 dakota , 5 speed, 3.9l v-6), either through a salvage yard or anything. I'd rather not replace the entire transmission. Even if there is a kit which includes the clutch fork I could feel better about buying it.

 

why do you have to replace the clutch fork? you should replace the release bearing. but unless your for is fubard. then it should be fine.

 

I got a clutch kit thinking that was the only problem, but at Pepboys they also found that the clutch fork was ruined....I tried to bring it somewhere to be fixed but they couldn't....so now I'm looking for a clutch fork...87-91 clutch forks are compatible, but the problem is finding the part now

 

ive gotten parts from here in the past, if you click on part fits, it says 87 to 05 for dakotas

thanks for the help, but no dice....It seems the only way to get that part is used, I've been through a bunch of sites without any luck
