Don't you need a grommet for the PCV and breather filter? The PCV valve grommet on mine looks to be so dried up that it will never make the seal back. It's definately seeping around it. I have what is supposed to be the PCV vavle grommet but it looks like the hole is too big. Actually looks like it is for the breather filter.

Any body have some answers on this? 94 3.9 V6.

edit: I just found this in the parts manual. Now got to see if I can find it available somewhere. The PCV grommet I have was from RockAuto and is a Dorman brand with part: 42344.

You can "wash it thoroughly in kerosense, or similar solvent" and than lubricate with SAE30 oil. Allow excess oil to drain out.

I was trying to check the PCV valve on my 94 3.9L Dakota. The instructions on the Autozone site said to just pull it out and remove it from the hose. My problem is it doesn't want to just pull out. Is there a special trick to getting it out or am I just not using enough elbow grease to get it out? I wanted to ask here before I end up causing damage. Also, I did not see a rubber grommet around the hole. I heard it described on here that there should be one. Thanks in advance for your help.

Just a quick update. I took my truck to Autozone and talked to them about the PCV issue. The guy went out with me to check and sure enough it came right out when he tried it. Anyway while it was out I checked it and it still rattles so I decided not to replace it.
