Default 3.9 to 5.2l conversion

Hey guys, well here i am in the begging of a project. I am purchasing a 318 motor next weekend. It is got about a 100,000 miles on the motor. It is from a 1994 dakota which i plan to moderately build and then dump in my 1996 dodge dakota 2wd automatic trans.I am just wondering what you all have to give me as advice on which route to take. Either Carbed or keep it Fuel Injected? I also will need help with my trans, and if i go the carbed route, will i need a new tranny right away, due to the computer controls? I just need advice like that to start me in the right direction.

Thanks Sam

Definitely FI, it may be a little more work to set it up but worth it.

The other guys are right; FI is the way to go. Anything other will entail a great deal of work. However, you might be installing an OBD I engine into an OBD II truck. The engines are mechanicallyidentical but the electrical connections to fuel injectors, water temperature sensors, the distributor electrics, and possibly the crank position sensor are different. You may needa few partsbut check it out so that you'll be able to obtain the right items to make your swap go as smoothly as possible.
