im having the same problem with my 87 dakota 3.9. a couple guys at work said look undo the egr and pretty much block it off. or see if there is a vacuum leak. just trying to see what can do.

 

My egr is romoved and the lines crimped and blocked. The vacum lines seam to be working fine but I havent inspected them yet But that is the next thing.

 

Finally found it out, the carb went on mine. The primary pump is just spitting fuel everywhere and i can't control it. And at times it just won't spit anything. That whole motor is coming out within the week. Tired of wasting money on it.

 

I dont know what happened but it started idleing with out a problem. The only thing i did was run some Gunk moter flush and changed the oil, couple days later it started idleing. It still runs rich but at least it idles.
