Did you do the mentioned "Stall Test"? What was the outcome?

how many miles are on the truck?
is it the original tranny?
does the fluid look new?
i think that if it makes the sound now and it didnt before you had it sitting for 2 months
i would flush and change both the engine oil and the tranny fluid ( and yes i have heard similar sounds from under my vehical when it needed a good engine flush). it sound like letting it sit has caused some of your fluids and oils to gunk up a little and you may not see that gunk when checking the fluids because it is trapped in the moving parts and it gets caught in the filter and reduces flow, causing a whole lot of problems like rough starting, rough shifting, poping out of gear in extreme cases, and just over all loss of power. plus in a vehical that gets regular use engine oilshould ALWAYS be changed between 3000 and 5000 miles or every 3 months whatever comes first.
so i would flush and change both engine oil and tranny fluid.
and make sure to flush, cause a simple change wont get the gunk out

i performed the stall test...but if i did it right then it was maxed at 2000 rpms.....it has 112000 miles on it, only had it a year now so don't know if tranny is original or not...fluid looks good and has no smell...it has been regularly maintained since i got it....love the truck, looks like crap, and now runs like crap...but still love my dodge....lol....i'll try flushing and replacing all the fluids and see if that makes a difference...thanks for the help guys
