4x4 make noise!

Default 4x4 make noise!

I have ´88 dodge dakota 4x4 and when I put
4wd on there coming scratchy noise
on the left side/front ! whats the problem?I checked
oil and its ok.When I drive with 2wd there isnt any
noises.Thanks for your answers and sorry my english...

How far towards the front? There are several things up in that area that could be making noise, such as your front left wheel assembly or the driveshaft. Since you don't hear the noise in 2wd, it's pretty safe to say your wheel assembly itself is okay, but you should check your axle joints just to be safe. More than likely the noise is related to your driveshaft, so hopefully it's just a universal joint. With the truck off and in park (or gear if it's a manual transmission), get underneath and see if you can move or turn the driveshaft any. If there's play in it, it's probably the joints. Also, now would be a great time to check your oil level in the front differential...if it's low (or even empty), that could be the problem too. If it's the differential that's making noise, be prepared to spend some money.
