brake light signal light problem
I have a 1990 Dakota. My ABS and brakes lights on the dash are staying on. The fuses for my brake lights and the fuse for my signal lights keep blowing.
I have no ABS on my truck so there are no sensors at the wheels or wires. I don't have cruise or tilt or anything as far as options go. Nothing at the master cylinder either.
I can't figure out why my fuses keep burning.

Sounds like a short, or at the least a bad ground in your signal/brake wiring. Check your wiring from back to front (especially trailer wiring if you have it) and the signal and hazard switches. As for the dash lights, do you have a fuse in the ABS fuse slot? Can't think of any other reason for those, except for a computer malfunction.
Thanks for the input guys.
I have no trailer wiring and when I change the fuses all the lights work but my ABS light stays on.
I put the truck on the hoist with brake lights on and one signal flashing. I went under the truck and pulled and giggled the wiring from one end of the truck to the other and didn't blow any fuses. I sat in the truck holding the brake and turning on and off the flashers and signals. Everything ok. By the time I got home I had no more brake lights or signals. The thing that puzzles me is the ABS light since I don't have ABS.

how do you know you dont have abs? i have it on my 89 truck! your back driver tire, behind it there will be a ABS Hydraulic Unit, above that is the connector for the sensor
unplug it and see if your abs light goes out. if you dont have this, then i dunno...

i might want to add too, that just because it goes away when you unplug it, dont drive with it like this..., i only know about this abs because i had to replace a line that was rusting out, and went ahead and replaced the other rubber hose too, think it was only 20-30 bucks.but the picture i posted is of the abs system, believe they might have one for the front, depending on the version of the truck.
