Pics of the engine
ive posted before about an engine swap that i did, origianlly had a 89 3.6 carbed, and replaced it with a 94(it did have fuel inject. but swapped the heads and intake) and now ive finally touched the engine up with some paint. It shows up orange on the pictures but its fire engine red. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/inde...lbumId=1225140
ive uploaded the pictures to my myspace account, so i wont have to resize the pictures.
Hopefully we'll get it in the truck by this weekend.

thanks, i just hope no one informs me now that they will not work, using the 94 block with the 89 heads and intake....cant wait for it to start up in the truck!
so here's what ive done,
wrecked truck from junkyard $550 (came with topper/cap/shell<whatever you prefer> both side view mirrors which run $15, drop in bed liner, newer bench seat with head rest! woot!, both brake light housing/with all the lamp connections, spare tire, and also taking the rear axel) this was suppose to be just a drop an engine in, but we found out the hard way, which was for the better!
the crankshaft was pretty much shot, im just happy people at autozone are tards sometimes that they didnt take notice, we only went this far because of the oil pump, plus putting a new timming chain on it.
new crankshaft $400 with,
new rod and main bearings
timing chain and gears with tensoner $100
complete intake and exhaust gasket set $42 bucks (which includes valve stems and head gaskets which all got changed.)
new high volume oil pump with oil pan gasket $60
vavle cover gaskets $18
new oil sending unit $15
experience of removing, yanking and tearing apart the engine $ "PRICELESS", lol except i have to pay the mechanic that helped me
all this for a stupid ol dakota that i fell in love with, 1989 with only 69,000 original miles on it, bought it from this guy's grandaughter, it was leaking water, bought it for $500. Replaced the 58 cent freeze plug, lol. few months later replaced the oil pump, learned a month later bout rod bearings and how easy they were to remove, which i didnt replace, mechanic didnt think it would need it, ...truck lasted 2 years until i blew the rod bearings into little bite size pieces in the bottom of my oil pan, on my way to work.
