1993 w/ 3.9 v6 sputtering (updated)
hey guys, I've put a new coil in my dakota which helped the sputtering a little bit.
I have a new coolant temp sensor which I haven't put in yet, and I'm starting to think it won't help.
i've noticed the past few days that it's related to humidity. When it's really moist out it sputters.
suggestions?

did you fix it? my 318 is doing the same thing and is starting to **** me off, had not have time to check anything yet, going to look around tomorrow. it does it more when it is humid like you said... i have a new accell cap and rotor button, new 3923 plugs and new 8.2mm taylor wires. have had them since i had the 318 in there so i dont think that is the problem. i am thinking coil...give me a good excuse for an msd6a and 50,000 volt coil!

I have a 92 v6 3.9, and mine has been doing the same thing. It does seem to happen on moist days, but then again, I live at a very high altitude in the NC Mountains, and one of my mechanic buddies has suggested that the throttle body is sticking due to age, the constant change in temp/moisture, and the altitude variences. 'Course, that may be baloney, I haven't had time to check it out...but that may be the case...check it out maybe? I've got brand new nkg plugs and wires on mine, and I'm getting ready to replace the distributor as well (which that may be the issue), so it's not a firing issue for me, but I'd check your distributor for cracks like dakotapappy said. It's little things like this that are irritating huh?
