Default Door Glass

Does anyone here know how to get the belt moulding (Haynes' manual spelling) off the doors? The Haynes manual says to roll down the window, then remove the screws. Rolling the window down only exposes two of the five screws. The other three are blocked by the glass, which is too close to the screws to allow the use of an angled driver.

Also, how do you get the glass out of the "run channel"? The manual says to use special tool so-and-so, which is no longer available. Can I use a plastic bondo spreader to pry the sliders out of the track? Actually, the top rear slider pops out of the track when I roll the window up.

Thanks in advance.

Did you actually find replacement belt moulding? I searched for the replacement inner and outer pieces a few months back but could not find an aftermarket supplier. The dealer wants $80 per side for them...

I've tried both of those sites and several others that deal strictly with weatherstripping and found nothing...most of those sites sell everything but the beltline kits for Dakotas. If I had a full-size Dodge truck, there would be no problem, but there doesn't seem to be any reproduction effort for those pieces for Dakotas.

I found it at Parts.com http://www.parts.com/oemcatalog/inde...layCatalogid=2for less than $60 a side. It's hard to find anything on this site, so I pasted the whole link to the page that has the belt molding. i got the run channel from Car Parts Wholesalehttp://cpwstore.carpartswholesale.co...972+11921+7950 . $35 a side seemed pretty reasonable.
