Transmission
I have a 94 block with 89's heads and intake, we took the 94 transmission and put it on. put 12 quarts of atf4 fluid, fired it up, and the thing shifts really hard in 1st gear. We had to swap outthe cable for the rocker arm deal that the 89 uses for shifting the transmission. any ideas? havnt pushed it further than that, dont want to blow up anything
??? not sure what your talking about, this rocker arm thing is original from the truck... i dont like it to shift hard from 1st gear to 2nd gear. it almost lurches forward! and whats the tv cable? the throttle cable?
The TV cable is for the other lever there with the shifter lever on the trans. On the older trans it was a rocker set up like the shifter . With out it the oil pressure to the valve body and clutches will not increase with the throttle position .
ok, i took the cable off of the 94 transmission and put the rocker setup on it, shouldnt it work? put some lucas trans oil in it, it has been sitting for almost a year now, maybe things needs to be worked out...
