Ram 2500 leaf springs
First off, I'm new to theis forum, so hi to all the regulars.I got my dakota back in january and I'm working right now on repainting it. I figured i'd do some other work while i have it torn apart. This question is geared toward Crazy4x4RT...Iread thatyousaid you put the Ram 2500 leaf springs on your dakota, and i was wondering if they were a direct fit or if you had to modify the mounts. Thanks.

RE: Ram 2500 leaf springs
Hi welcome! Well I took the easy way. I seperated out the spring packs. I just keeped my top one. And used the 2500 bottoms. It gave me great lift. And can haul anything with out it sagging. So to say the truth they fit perfectly. But I did have to get longer u bolts to compensated for the extra leafs, along with a longer spring pack bolt.Heres a pic.

RE: Ram 2500 leaf springs
use c-clamps to hold the spings in postion. The center bolt is usually rusted. And you dont want it to pop off on you. and whenu put it back to gether use the c-clamp. I dont know if you do any offroading with yours. If you do flip the ubolts around like mine is in the pic. It will give you more ground cleance. You will need a 2wd top if yours is a 4wd. If yours is 2wd just flip it. Use plenty of penitrating oil. It will make such a differnce. Pre plan everything. get all your parts before you start. New bolts will be best. Used can be scary.
