New to the site.......Just bought a 1992 Dodge Dakota longbed 2 wheel drive for $200.00with a 3.9 and auto tranny(bad tranny). I have to trailer it home and was wondering if anyone knows the approximate weight.I have a trailer rated at 4000lbs and was wondering if that would be sufficient to haul it on, the truck is about 60 miles from where I live!
Thanks Tim
A reg cab short bed 4x4 weighs in at 4,036lbs so figure you do have a little extra bed weight but you don't have a transfer case, front diff, etc, so i think you'll be fine
The tag is GVW, Gross vehicle weight, vehicle weight with a load, as Crazy said. Everyone's weight really is different, I've seen identical trucks come up with different weights, all you need is a variance in the scale and it'll throw the weight off.
