I can't help with all questions, but I do know later (early 90's-late 00's?) dakotas used a very strange 6x4.5 bolt pattern. Which as far as I know is only found on dakotas and durangos. I believe your factory rims are 15x7 but someone may correct me. Good luck.

I may try to do the same with my truck. You can swap front hubs and rear axles from an older dakota I think?? to get a more common 5x4.5 bolt pattern I believe. That is, if you can find a 5 lug dakota with an 8.25 rear axle, or if the 7.5 axles will swap.

Well as for the 31x10.5 will clear everthing on a stock rim. You should not run into any rubing issues. When I had 31x10.5 on stock rims I didnt have any rubing issues. So you dont need to change rims and backspacing. But if you do want to change it you can get new wheels or just get wheel spacers. There are some for 6x4.5 and some to convert it to other bolt pattern sizes.

those wheels you hve are 6 inches wide. i hade to trade them in on some 15x8's. i would not put 31x10.5's on a 6 inch wide wheel, i had 245/60/15's on mine fora little while and the ballon pretty bad.

I'm going with Pro Comp Soft 8 15x8 Wheels w/ 31x10.5-15 Pro Comp Xtreme Mud Terrain from 4wheelparts.com
