question with amp

Default question with amp

im running a 10 inch sub in the back of my dakota.... problem is i cant get the amp to come on..everything is new.... all the wires are ran properly, and i know the ground is good..im stumped i dont know what else to check..i checked all the fuses in the amp, radio, and the power wire and they are all good..can someone help.

Maybe the amp is defective.

Did you check for voltage on the supply wire?

And I don't know what you grounded it to, but try different locations.

do you have your remote wire hooked up? the amp will not turn on unless the remote wire is ran, it is like a relay type thing inside the amp that tells the amp when to come on. that sounds like your problem to me.

i have 4 12's in my dakota and i ran into the same problem, i ran all the wires perfectly, and then it cut out and wouldnt work, i believed the amps were done or something, both amps wouldnt turn on, i figured it was a ground problem, but what the problem was that the power cable wasnt tight enought on the battery post, make sure to check your fuse and your RTO the tiny blue wire, and a good gound is on the seat studs that come threw the floor if that helps any
