ok so my 95 dakota 3.9 has stock cats..im wondering can i remove just one of the cats and will the truck still pass emissions?

Most likley no, the only way you may pass is uslip the smog tech a $100

 

Well for me I gutted it and I have passed for 3yrs now. But they do a visual inspection to make sure you do have a cat. So if you cut it off, you will fail. But by gutting it you stillcan pass thevisual, now the accual testing the gases of the exhast, I would say if you have passed with all test being on the low side, you should be able to pass.

 

95dodgesport, what state are you in? I know here in illinois, anythingmade in 96 or before is exempt from emissions

I was excited when I heard the news here in Illinois. So excited that I got rid of the Cat on my '93, and I laughed at my dad cus he has to take his 2000 chevy in every 2 years. I do love my state, tho I could do without the mandatory insurance thing (I'd still carry insurance, but it would be one less thing to fumble for when the cop is at my window)

 

im in pa and we have emissions test every single year..its sucks
