Default 1993 Dodge Dakota. 4X4, 318 5.2L

I am having problems with my trans. not shifting into overdrive. Works good in all other gears, also the cruise control doesn’t work, don’t know if this is related or not or a total different problem. Need the overdrive working, any solutions. Thanks

check the overdrive button on the dash to make sure it's lit up (turned mine off a few times by accident). if not then i'm not sure because the cruise on my 89 is vaccume operatedand the overdrive is electronic, two different systems.

I had this problem on my '95, it turned out to be the speed sender unit. It's under the driver side on the trans, $42 at Dodge 4 years ago, can't get the part at any parts store, Dodge direct only

Unplugged the 2 wires to the speed control on the outside of the trans., plugged back in and everything started to work, 4th and ovedrive, cruise and daytime running lights.
