Default 1988 Dakota 4x4, no electric to coil, etc.

Hello,

I have a 1988 Dakota 4x4, 3.6L V6 that doesnot have any fire, and there is no power to the coil. It turns over, but I do not hear the fuel pump fire up when I turn onthe key. Can anyone help?

Thank you,
Jeff

Does that have an auto shut down relay on it? Start there, I had the same problem with my '92

Try the ignition switch. I had the same problem with my '94 Dakota. It was the ignition switch after I checked all the wires and the ECM.

the 88 does have a shutdown relay. it's located on the inner fender, drivers side. small black box with 4 wires plugged into the bottom.
