blower motor loaction

Default blower motor loaction

im trying to replace the blower motor on my 96 dakota were is it located at. ive heard its under the passenger side dash, but i dont see it

It is on the pass. side behind a cover.

which cover there the ones thats closest to the door with a vacuum for the door hanging of it and then one more closer to the middle of the car

not sure about the 96's but the early daks (87-92) had a problem with the resistor located on the outside firewall, passanger side. might be worth checking before you replace the motor, if you have one. mine went and i only had one speed for heat. i've read others didn't work at all.

yea cause one day when i had the heater on it cut out and didnt come back on till i restarted my truck. then all of sudden the ac just stopped working. i mean like if im driving fast i can feel air come in from the vents. so i though it was the blower. what does the resistor look like and how do i know if something is wrong with it

sounds like a bad resistor shut down the blower. it's located high on the passanger side close to the fender on my 89. it has 5 wires with a large white wire on the plug that plugs into it. mine does not have air but i don't think that matters for the blower.
the only way i know to check it is to replace it. (5 bucks at a junkyard). there is a way to check it but i don't have the diagrams and resistance values to give you.

i have the Haynes repair Manuel would the diagrams be in there by any chance

is this the resistor and if so when i took it of i found this

the top prong has like black stuff on it, and on the plug were that prong went into its a little black

nvm i cleaned of the prong and plugged it back in and now my ac blows fine i just have a leak somewhere, i put dye in my system a while back and and i noticed just now that there is a bunch of dried dye near a o-ring, is that were the leak is and if so how do i seal it up
