Default Why I Disappeared.

I got around to cleaning up my motor/engine bay. Along with fixing some leaks. However, the oil pan leak is back. I truely hate Milodon pans.

There was abunch of things wrong getting it back to running, coolant system leaks, carburator issues, etc. Unfortunately I have the 750cfm Eddy carb (worst ever made, do NOT buy one). I am now stuck with a stumble off-idle acceleration, it has really dumbed down my truck. Maybe next year when I get the money, I'll upgrade to Holley.

I still have 4.10s awaiting to be put in, I ended up putting to much back into the motor, etc when putting it back in.

I'm still dealing with my carburetor now, hopefully get it a little better for the rest of the year. It just got back on the road within the past 1.5 weeks. I've missed every major car show/cruise.

Anyways, here's a link to some of the chaos.

It's been exactly 11 months since the Dakota has seen the road.

Last year on a cruise with friends, I launched off a light and blew out all my torque converter bolts. Come to find out, the MORONIC Transmission shop who rebuilt my transmission. They cut down CRANK bolts and used them as TC bolts.

I have a hard time letting others work on my vehicles as it is, now it's become almost impossible. I'll probably learn how to rebuild one before letting another shop touch it. Unless it's a good friend.

im also not good with transmissions...but what i would do is have a shop do the internal work, but put in it yourself.

I have a holley on the mirada and demon, and i find them to be much easier to deal with, although edelbrock lovers disagree.

At the time they did the transmission, I had no place to work on the truck. It was sitting in storage. So, it was easier at the time to have the shop do it.

As for Edelbrock, they're losing their fanbase quick. I know of multiple people with the off-idle stumble right now. It's pathetic. One guy has to rebuild his once a year.

I had a 850 edelbrock and went to a Bigs carb.

http://www.bigsperformance.com/productpage.htm

call them and tell them what set up you have and they will build you a carb that is bolt on ready. I bolted mine on and the trunk picked up a lot of hp over the 850 Edelbrock with out the stumble. When you hit the gas tires smoke. It is that quick.

I'm going to stick a needle/seat set in and try that. Hope for the best. I've been hearing the Ethanol is tearing these carbs up quicker.

Bad part, there're only 2 shows left and one cruise I do with friends to end the year.

admit it.... you were on americas most wanted for f*cking sheep. so you were in hiding for a while

ya, edelbrock does suck. I had a 650 eddy on my 360, and it wouldnt idle worth a crap. so I put on a 750 holley that was sitting around for a while. and the motor ran soo much better.

Don't get me wrong, I've heard good things from Edelbrock carbs. All EXCEPT the 750. As of late, EVERYONE is having problems.

I'm throwing rods/needle/seats in tomorrow and hope it helps.

Heck, even after turning it off, it wouldn't start right back up. It's become a big PITA. I just hope I can at least get a decent amount to sell it to afford the Holley.
