not moving

hey in my 94 dakota 4x4 my shifter arm on the 4wd gear stick broke off and i need its in neutral on the 4wd gear shift i was wondering will the truck still go into gear on the normal gear shift or will she just be neutral.

If the transfercase is in neutral then no matter where the tranny is it will not move. You can go down below and move the transfer case linkage to put it back to 2wd, by hand.

dang how on earth did you break the 4wd shifter I cant even get the **** off

i didnt break the shifter i forced it up in 2 wd and the rod that does from the shifter to the transfer case poped off.

If that rod poped off it can be put back on. If the rubber gargement is riped you can get another for less than $5.
