Default timing cover issues

so... i took off my timing cover bolts about 2-3 months ago
well long story short i didnt take any care to take pictures
of where they went. so now i am in a dilema! i the chain
replaced and i am in re-assembly. anyone know where i can
find docs showing which go where? i have tried process of
elimination but most are different lengths but are the same
thread. i have measured the hole debth but there is something
wrong. i have one long one that almost fits but at about 1/4
inch left i try to thread more...but i can hear a strain and then a little pop .. almost like im hitting the chain. only idea i have is to head to pick and pull to pull a cover and take picks of wich bolts go where. anyone have a better idea?

I feel your pain! I have never seen a manual (factory or otherwise) that would show that. Best of luck man. Best you can do is keep bumping this thread to the top and hope for the best.

You have like 4 long, 2-3 medium and a couple small bolts?

Which motor?

I just did this on my LA360, it should be similar to the 3.9 and the same for the 5.2

the timing cover is the same on the v8 and the v6 those sound like the correct bolts but. the one @ the bottom left of the water pump is making a strange noise when i try to finish threading it..almost like its hitting the chain. second issues is the medium bolts are different lengths. 1-7/8 down to just over 1-1/2
