Question 92 dakota 3.9l oil pressure light

My oil pressure light flickers and cones on sometimes while driving and sometimes when idling. The pressure gauge needle indicator stays about midway on the gauge. I have changed out the oil pressure sending unit but am still having oil pressure light problems. No problem with running engine, but the light is irritating. Also does anyone know where the "maintenance required" reset button might be located. Thanks

My old 93 used to do the same thing, never bothered the engine and usually only flickered when the oil was slightly used, like 1k or 1500 miles into the new oil change. I never figured it out...sorry

Put a mechanical guage on and verify you have pressure when the light is on. The stock gauge is very innaccurate. The light usually triggers when you are approaching 0-5 psi oil pressure. I'm guessing you are seeing it at a hot idle mostly?

If the oil pressure checks out i'd check the contacts on the guage cluster and the wiring leading to the sending unit.
