Default outlandish supercharger question

I'm probably an idiot of even asking this, but it's been eating at me all evening so I had to ask....

Has anybody come across any root style blowers for mopar small block magnums or la engines? (don't wanna have any of that centrifugal crap.... lol) If so, I would doubt they would support EFI (but worth asking) Secondly, if no to the above question, has anybody around here had some experience with custom manifold work? I have come across a few custom efi blower intakes (just not for the magnum...) but I though in the even I have time (and a little bit of cash) in the future I might attempt such a project... (Figure i could start with an efi intake or stock la intake, lop the top off, and fab up a blower base from there... maybe a whipple twin screw, maybe 6pack efi on top? I'm crazy i know...) I of course do not know anything about intake design, or even what sensors would be required to keep it all managed. I did find local guy w/ a 318 and a spare block for free...

It's all probably much too complicated for me to tackle, but unfortunately im the kind of stupid that thinks "oh nobody's done this before, therefore I have every reason now to try (and fail)"

please no flaming though, I already know i'm an idiot

Hmmm, good question. i always did like the root style as opposed to the centrifuge, just sounds cooler, and looks bad ***. In all my searches, i never did find one that would work on our our motors.

Oh, and you're not an idiot, i call it aggressive, er something like that. whatever the word was that i couldn't find, you're definitely not an idiot for asking, that's what we're here for.

Kenne Bell did and canceled it, but if you look hard you can find kits that haven't sold and are taking up dust in warehouses.

Kenne and Bell's was a twin screw like whipple's and supposedly was one of the better bolt ons, but unfortunately it didn't bolt to the manifold like what im looking for (like you see on so many SBC's and even hemis)

I agree about the look and sound of having it stacked like that. I also think that having a system like this also eliminates the need for an inter-cooler ect. as it should inherently run cooler.

Assuming I get access to the required tools and materials I think my biggest problem would be computer tuning. But along with this I figured I'd be doing a full build while I was at it (my dream would be a 408 stroker w/ enough room for boost) and I'd build it on an OBDII system.

EDIT: Well, whilst perusing ebay I came across this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/B-M-b...mZ290264616530

I think one of you guys should buy it then give us the details on the intake

apparently it was a custom job but cool nevertheless.

has anyone tried a homemade blower. (if your truck does not have air, the compressor bolts right up)

take a air conditioning compressor and reroute the intake to the front and the outake to the throttlebody. you will have to drill and tap the throttlebody to get a fitting in it. extra air and the 02 sensor picks it up and enriches the mixture (more power).

there are 2 wires on the compressor, they run into a relay of some type, hook them to a on/off switch on the dash. flick the switch and the compressor forces air into the throttlebody.

this is just kind of a idea i had for a while, if anyone has any reasons why this won't work please let me know.

i would think you would need some sort of cooling with that though. I'm pretty sure theres oil in the freon, and without that in the lines it will burn out like a turbo without oil. If you could find a way to keep oil going to the compressor i think it might work, but I wonder how efficient it would be.
