Default Error Code 32

What would cause an intermitten error code 32 (EGR valve failure)? My light came on the other day and went back off, and i reset it to get rid of the code and it hasnt come back on, so is there a real problem or not?

There might be. I would sugest make sure the engine bay is clean. Make sure wires are okay. Make sure vacuum lines are okay. Then if everything passes then maybe it was a glitch. Or something got stuck. Just if the light does come back on then you will want to check out the egr.

Could the catalytic converter have an effect on it or is it too far down the exhaust for the egr, cause my truck has had a rattle at idle for the past week or so that i am 99% sure is coming from the catalytic converter, like something is broken in it.

the convertor should not matter on yours because you have no o2 sensor behind it on the 95. just get up under it and hit it and if it rattles cut it out, if you dont have emissions.

Just an update, the code hasnt come back so I think it was a glitch. Also, the rattling was coming from the cat.... I cut it off and temporarily replaced it with a straight pipe this afternoon til I can get a new one. Every bit of the honeycomb inside it was broken up and it was causing my gas milage to drastically fall. We dont have emissions in North Carolina on OBDI but they do look to make sure the cats there. I have til next summer til it needs to get inspected again so I dont have to get a new one right away.
