Default water pump and tensioner

well the tensioner is going bad on the truck and the water pump is also making some noise( i used the same ones in th engine swap so i know it would happen sooner or later...). dont want to put any more cheap advanced auto ones on there anymore so i called napa. they wanted 93 dollars for the tensioner!!! so i said no needless to say. i am sure it is good quality but my bank account is not. got to looking at summit and they have goodyear accudrive tensioners for 59 dollars and GMB water pumps. i have heard that the goodyear belts and stuff are pretty good and have seen some of the tensioners too, but never used on. any of you guys used these. the GMB pump sounds pretty good but have also not sen any of these before. i figure with summit it has got to be pretty good because that is the only kind they carry. they also have a performance one for it too that is supposed to have better flow. so any input you guys have would be great.

I recommend www.rockauto.com for any OEM parts that you want. If you go with them, I'll look for the Discount Code.

That sucks. Once you get rid of one squeek another one comes. My power steering is now dieing with squeeks. As well as my Ac Compressor. Hopefully I can get the ps done this coming week.

I would say those summit parts look good. The performance pump would be sweet, to get some extra cooling power. But from what I have heard is its like simlar to getting a performace oil pump. Is that they take more power from the engine to push the extra volume. I dont know how much more. But stock quality has been great for me so its not worth wasting presious hp on it. And we all know the more hp the better.

i was thinking the same thing about robbing some hp, because i dont have an overheating problem. i may just get a napa one because i had a coustmer give me a good tensioner tonight!!! i deliver pizza and went to a house and he had alot of rams and i was telling him and he gave me a working one in really good shape for a tip, going to see if it works now. my powersteering has been going bad too, i have just delt with it, i dont have as big of tires as you do though, plus it make me feel like i have a supercharger when i mash on it, lol. and thanks badkota for the site, i had forgot about rockauto, they are pretty good, i ordered my wiper bushings from them a while ago

that would be cool to get an electric pump, but lucky for you i am a collage kid paying his own way through school and paying for 3 other vehicles now, so you can still be my friend and get an electric pump first. i bought a new airtex pump yesterday for $80, but it has a lifetime warranty so figured i cant go wrong.
