Default 96 Roaring after fan clutch replacment

Took the Dakota to a local tires plus after a grinding noise started happening during the morning startup. They said it was the fan clutch and water pump. Now that these two items are replaced the engine has a loud roar on start up and when accelerating. It did not have this roaring noise before the parts were replaced.

After doing some searching and reading online it seems this is normal to happen once the clutch bearing has spun all the fluid back out of the low spots the fan slows down. I did read that it happens more during colder weather and its getting cold in iowa. I called the wife to see if it quiets down after its warmed up and she didn't know so I am going to check it out tonight once she gets home. I don't drive it daily so I am not sure after it warms up.

Any thoughts?

probably just the fan moving air. if it disengauges when it it warm it is ok. it will always be on during the first startup though.

some of the 'heavy duty' fan clutches are really for snow plowing use
and lock up at a low 140 degrees of air temperature

stock factory clutch locks up at 220 degrees

It's normal. Mine was loud when I got the truck... quieted down as it failed and was loud again when replaced...
It is perfectly normal.
