Default problem with my truck

For the past days my truck been having issues whenever I stopped at anything like light or stop signs or whatever and then it'd just shut down out of nowhere and then I tried to start it up again, it wouldn't let me and then I'd have to wait 5 minutes or more to start it up. My father said it may be the fuel pump or the oil pump so I'm not sure, any idea why?

the info on my truck:

94 dakota
3.9 L
v6
2wd
automatic
161k+ miles on it

what all have you checked? can you hear th fuel pump running? if it is running check the fuel pressure. it could also be the a bad connection for the auto shutdown relay, look in the faq to find more info on that.
