Default transmission temp gauge

Has anyone installed a transmission temperature gauge on the A518? If so, what do I need to know about where it goes and what kind to get?

i think the yare universal most of the time. drill and tap on into the pan. i saw a thing in the truck section of the summit catalog about a screw on external tranmission filter that you put in the cooler lines that came with a gauge, it was like $85, not too bad i thought. i know there is a sensor the tells the computer the temp because it shows up on the scan tool.

Ya they are universal. Here is one. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
It has the instal instructions on that site. It connects like bad96 said on the tranny cooler return line.
Only the 96 and up, 46re have the sensors from factory.

Tee the sensor into the trans line before the cooler .You want to know the temp of the trans ,not the temp of the fluid after the cooler.Use PST sealant or Teflon tape on any threaded fittings you use.
