how do i open the hood on a 96 dakota that the latch cable is broke on? also once opened is it hard to replace the cable?

 

Do you know where it broke? Is it the handle or did the cable completely come out? I had a friend who had it brake on him. He had to gain access from the fender well. He was able to get the cable and cut the sheild and pull the cable from there to pop it open. You can try that. Maybe take off the tire so you have more room. Or cut the section inside the cab if that section of cable is still there!
I belive the cable should be easy to replace once opened.
