Default transmission question

hi, i recently got a 96 Dakota with the 5.2 automatic. runs great and i love it most of the time. i drive about a hundred miles to college once every couple of weeks. sometimes it starts acting up, like i'll be driving down the highway, just holding like 65 or 70 and for no reason it will just drop out of overdrive. it has a new trans that was put in about 5000 miles ago. also replaced the throttle postion sensor. anyone have any ideas? thanks

You could try adjusting the throttle valve cable, but overdrive is all electronically controlled, so you might also want to check all the wiring harnesses going into the transmission to make sure they are secure.

I had this problem on my '93, and it was, in fact, loose wiring, so I'd start there
