Question for Crazy4x4RT
I have a question about the 5.9L swap you did. Did you have a mopar performance computer running the the 5.2L before you did the swap and if so are you still using it for the 5.9L. I ask because I am looking at getting a 5.9L someone is selling on craigslist and I want to know if the mopar performance computer I have right now for my 5.2L will still work. Thanks.

yes it will work, he is useing the 318 MP computer. and if you need to ask someone a question directly, send them a PM. i dont care and i am sure other people dont, just one of the forum rules.
Yes I do have the mopar performance computer for the 5.2. Yes I am using it to run the 5.9. It works great! The computer senses (due to the O2 sensor) that the engine needs more gas and the computer will adjust for it, to keep the 14:1 air to fuel ratio. And the performance computers has more adjustment then the stock computers. If possible use the 5.9s injectors for better fuel delivery. Depending on the year you may need the connectors too.
This swap is so easy. It is just like replacing with a 5.2 everything is a plug and play. Just like all the chevys. Just remeber the only things you need spacifily for the 5.9 is ballancer and flywheel. Everything will swap over. If you can the 5.9 injectors would be better. And use all of your factory sensors and all so you dont have to mess with switching any wires. If you have more questions go ahead and ask. And post up pics of your swap as it goes along.

For next time you can just post up the question in the forum, for others to see. But post it as a question to everyone and if one spacific person may know just mention their name. Its no big deal. No one is mad. Just remeber if you have a question someone else has that same exact question too.
I also have a 360 swapped into my '95, and bought a 360 MP computer to run the engine. Some time after the swap, had a problem and switched back to the 318 MP ECU as a part of the diagnostic routine. The 360 engine did not run that well with the 318 computer. After correcting the problem, I returned to the 360 MP computer. In my vehicle at least, the 360 engine works best with the 360 computer.
