Default Plenum, correct diagnosis

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to say thank you and let all of you know that the diagnosis of a bad plenum gasket was absolutely correct on my brother's Dakota. There was oil in the intake, and when we hooked up the pressure gauge per the repair sheet, it showed that there was actually a vacuum forming, and thus the plenum gasket was bad. It was a lengthy repair getting down to the gasket but now all is well. Gas mileage was at 12-13 mpg on a 93 5.2 2WD Dakota, extended cab. I will report on the new gas mileage. Pinging noise has also gone away, what noise is left I believe is just the noise of the engine itself, seems all Dakotas sound similar.
