Default Replace Water Pump

I was informed by someone that a special tool was needed to remove the clutch fan, that it was a dodge specific tool, to permit access to remove the water pump?

Is this accurate or is there another way to perform the removal of the clutch fan or the water pump, or where would I purchase the tool?

Thanks

you can get the tool at a parts store, but i never use it. I you have access to an air chisel you can hit the corner of the nut and spin it loose with that, or if not get a big wrench and hold the water pump still by sliding some bolts in the holes in the pully and hit the wrench with a hammer or he-man it off. pretty easy job, go ahead and replace the bypass hose while you are at it.

No spacial tools needed. Just a large crescent wrench, and leave on the belt and tighten up the belt to help hold on the pulley. But a specialty would help. Like these!

Print a picture of the tools Crazy posted and take them with to Autozone. They will let you borrow the tool, but it goes by a different name in their catalog and I can't remember what I asked for. In the end I ended up fabricating my own tool out of a piece of flat steel and some bolts. Problem I had with leaving the belts on was that everything was covered in coolant and super slippery, and I was cranking down on it so hard that I was moving the truck.

Replace the metal tube also, believe it is the intake tube. Worth the $8, and you don't have to worry about saving the old one.
