1993 5.2 Dakota Transmission
The transmission is going out and I was wondering if anybody has rebuilt one. If so is it hard to do? I am debating whether or not I should rebuild it, or if I should just get rid of it.
Any Help will be appreciated,

the tranny slips really bad when it warms up, i brought it into the transmission shop and they hooked it to a computer and told me to start looking for a new tranny, i have changed the fluid and filter 3 times in the last year each time with alot of shavings.
also the shifting is hard and not always at the right time and doesnt always go into overdrive

Personally, if the motor is good, I would rebuild the transmission. When I had mine done, it wasn't too costly.
If you've never rebuilt one yourself or know of someone close who knows how to, to help you, I would not rebuild it. Have the pro's do it.
