getting rid of all the emmissions junk?
#12
i made a little block off plate for the egr(traced the gasket on 1/8 aluminum). i sealed it with some ultra copper. got rid of the egr pipe that didnt connect to the exhaust anyway, the charcoal cannister, egr valve and a bunch of hoses. not sure if i can unplug(electrically) the back pressure transducer or not without tripping a code as im letting the silicone cure over night. unplugging the solenoid trips the check engine light. i may look into replacing it with a resistor so the computer still thinks the solenoid is there so i can toss it too.

theres no power gains from having it on. a very very slight increase in gas mileage, but not really measurable(you burn the odd gas fume that would normally be vented). its mostly for making the exhaust cleaner, and to prevent fumes from evaporating into the air. getting rid of it may help power ever so slightly(probly not measureable) as you burn only clean air, not exhaust gasses plus air.
newer trucks dont have it, and it unclutters the engine bay. also less stuff to go wrong
