ok so i dont own this truck and im looking to buy... its a 89 dakota v6 5speed and the problem is it has no reverse or 5th gear so i was wondering if it just needs a new clutch or what

 

If you can't get into the gears at all thats not a clutch problem, the transmission needs to be rebuilt.

 

The rear seal like to fail in these trucks.Then as the bearing start to go the main shaft will walk back and forth.So instead of going into certain gears the shaft moves out of the way. But if it is not real noisy you can probably fix it your self .
