Default tranny on 90 v6

i got a 1990 dakota v6 3.9 which trans is in this truck?also i was wondering will a 727 out of a 72 charger bolt up? i know my trans is electronic.one last thing will the 318 motor and trans from the 72 fit in this truck and could i get a intake off of a 92 318 for the throttle body in stead of using a carb?

Your transmission is not electronic. It is a fully hydraulically controlled transmission in gears 1-3 with electronic overdrive. Since the 727 has no overdrive, you won't need to worry about the electronics not working. Also, the LA 318 block was made from the 60's until 1991, so yes, the engine will work. The intake from the '92 will not work, it is from a Magnum series 318 with multi-port injection and a completely different head set up than the LA motors have. I hope this answered all your questions.

Oh, and welcome to the forum!

The only thing you'll have to worry about as far as the drive shaft goes is if the 727 is the same lenth as your A500. They can be within a couple inches cause the slip yoke gives you some play.... thats another thing, make sure the spline count is the same for the slip yoke. A throttle body injection should go on, but don't hold me to it, but the magnum multi-port injection won't fit.

No, the headers won't work.
