The steering shaft extends enough. So no steering issues. Just need to weld in a spacer for the shifter rod. Easy. Take it to a muffler shop. They charged me $5.

Performance accessories makes a 2 inch body lift kit... I have it. The only 2 things you have to extend is the automatic transmission shifter rod that goes from the outside steering column, down and you'll have to make new bolt holes in the front bumper mount.

I would suggest looking on ebay before ordering it from summit. I think summit has it for $100 or something plus shipping, I got mine on ebay for $78 shipped.

i am doing 4in of suspension. i also done the same thing to my truck as your pic at the top of this thread, except the water was over my hood! and i was cranking 5200rpms when it locked! i am still using same engine! took plugs out used starter to turn over engine, then changed oil, been running ever since. i guess i got lucky! by the way my insurance paid me about $8000 on a comprehensive clame when i done that, you might want to check into that. ky has a law though if water gets over the dash they have to total it.
I think it was mostly my fault because I was forcing it to try to keep running in fear of getting REALLY stuck and didnt realize the water was going in the motor. It siezed while it was running.
If I woulda know water was going in I woulda killed it and done the same as you, but it all happened so fast... and there are always coulda, shoulda, woulda's!
I have WAY to many projects in the books right now so be dumping alot of $$ into this truck so I am passing on the suspension lift right now. I was thinking of making my own body lift to achieve like 3" but for under $100 for a whole kit.... 2" will do for the time I would spend making the 3"!!

So I got my replacment motor.
came out of a rolled over 94 that they have been using on a farm every day since the roll over. Good IMO, as he said he drives it probably 2 miles a day tops to get around the farm.
Heres the best part... only 45,000 miles! I asked if he thought that was correct and he said yes. he has had the truck for a long time.
So that means I can roll my clock back from 73,000 to the average between 73,000 and 45,000 right?
Anywho.... there is WAY more to a motor swap that I thought! I was thinking it was the 4 bolts between the motor and the tranny and 2 motor mounts and shes out.... WRONG!
There are bolts and brackets and covers everywhere! and worst off, this is my first swap so I have never been in a transmission so I didnt know the motor bolts to the torque (sp?) converter. No big deal IF YOU MOTOR IS NOT LOCKED UP! I have to take the converter out with the motor because I cant turn the motor over to get to the other bolts!
Ugh... bigger job than I though, but I will prevail! Worked for a few hours yesterday and got it all ready to pull out.
