solid axel swap

Default solid axel swap

i am looking to do a solid axle swap on my 89 sport and wanted to get some suggestions did some research and a 79 250 60 will fit out back and 79 bronco 44 up front but what i don't know is what leafs to use up front also shox and much lift i am lookn at i do have a budget so any help will be greatly appreciated

As far as what leaf springs, it all depends on what you want. Something tall, stiff/stronger, soft, longer for articulation or or just looking for a cheep price. The FAQ2 in this section has several links of solid axle swaps.

moor lift and cheep but dependable as i am using this truck for hunting florida mud is sticky

+1 to that. I don't think anybody on this forum has done a solid axle swap to these trucks so you may want to check out the links in FAQ2 for the info you need.

It might not be, but hard to say. Go measure your truck to see what factory is. I know mine is going to be several inches wide using full size truck axles.

Actually that is a bit on the narrow side. Our trucks are ~64 inches WMS to WMS... give or take an inch cause it was a rough measurement. Just out of curiosity, what is the axle out of?
