Default HELP what engine should i get?

I have an 89 dakota 2WD and i want to figure out which v8 to get??

1.) the 94 jeep 318 mag, which i really want cuz the power

2. a 90 dakota 318 TBI w/ harness and ECM 126xxx miles very clean

3. a 318 from a 91 dodge 150 with harness and ECM w/ only 87xxx on her

4. and a 93 dodge 318 with like 130xx says it burn a little oil but runs good?

Help me lol i want to know which would be my best bet? If i get the mag engine from the jeep will i need a dodge harness and ECM or if it has a harness and ECM with those work? And i assume i will need a dodge oil pan for that one

Thanks

UPDATE:

So i have ruled out the 91 dodge ram 150 engine. The 94 jeep engine has a bent fan and some pullys from the guy who removed it, which i would replace with the stuff from my 3.9L and it comes w/ a partial wire harness? Which im still waiting to find out what it all comes w/. And no PCM/ECM. But it is a magnum The 1990 dakota 318 has everything and is very very clean And the 93 318 i am waiting to hear if it comes w/ harness and PCM? If the 93 includes such items i am going w/ that i think cuz its the magnum V8. On the 94 jeep 318 i would need a dakota oil pan i belive?

Please help. This is all new to me so all your opinions would do me a great deal

Thanks

Without a doubt get a magnum if it comes with the harness and PLC. Oil burning is likely a easy fix but dont hold me to that.

Also keep in mind that the earlier dakotas (i.e. yours) have a multiple belt setup and the later magnums have a single serpentine belt... so make sure that if you go with your pullies that they will actually bolt up to the engine, cause I can't tell you for sure whether they will or not.

i can tell you for sure that they will not. the pre-magnum engines had completely different pullies than a magnum.

Thanks guys, i feel the same way about the magnum, if indeed it has harness and computer its close to home and cheap. I have ruled out the 91 just cuz and i feel the jeep one would be a pain with bent pullies and no wires!!!! The 1990 dakota 318 would be the easiest and has everything and is really nice. And if i cant do the magnum im doing the 90 318 which isnt bad but is not much of a step up from my 3.9L

Thanks

UPDATE: Well the 93 5.2L has been sold. So that leaves me with 2 options. The 1990 dakota 318 which i would be alright with. Or this bring me to my next option. I have been trying to figure out the tranny on top of the engine so i went to my local salvage yard and founf a 94 jeep limited with a 5.2L v8 and has the harness and PCM, and the tranny i would like anyway, the 46RH. Now will this tranny work in my 89 dakota with the 1990 318? also i want this tranny its only 90$ and im going to get it rebuilt. What are your thoughts on that tranny and possible the enigine with it? the miles thing read 217xxx? which i was going to rebuild both anyways. Would the jeep engine work with the harness it has w/ it already? or no?

Thanks

The 94 sounds like the best engine. But you will need complete engine all sensors and wires and computer. It will take time to put it all together. But it would be worth it in the end.

The next 2 choices since I believe you said the 93 is gone. Is the 90 or 91 with wires and computer. But the power would be lower then the Magnum.

Since the 94 is from a jeep and he said some wires are cut or missing and there is no computer. Would i be able to use a wire harness for the same engine from another jeep at my salvage yard? or do i need a 5.2L dodge harness? can you clear this up for me.. will the engine harness from the jeep engine work in my 89 dodge. I stated this in a diff thread but i want to do a 390 stroker so i was going to get the 90 318 since its really clean and complete from engine to harness/ computer. Do you think it would be better to do a 390 out of the magnum instead? i could pull all the parts of a 5.2L in my salvage yard to fix the bent pullies and fan!

Thanks

Also to complete the engine if i go with the jeep 5.2L i will need to figure out the computer and harness. But as stated in the FAQ on swapping i will need a dodge oil pan correct?

Thanks
